There are some papers on measuring ‘burden’ of participation, which is a similar idea (/the same), though I'm not sure it’s been linked directly to the questions around retention & retention research 19/ https://t.co/PmvveEbZCz
This is really interesting, and demonstrates the need for less burdensome RCTs, psychological support for patients in trials, and more patient and public involvement. All things we're working towards in the UK
Interesting paper on research burden. I think it's easy as researchers to forget all the ways participants/potential participants can be impacted when involved in research. Its important to be mindful and try, where possible, to reduce that burden. https:

Fascinating article on the burden of research for participants. This burden is often much *heavier* for participants from marginalized groups- drug uses, sex workers. We still have a long way to go toward humanizing individuals who share their lives &

An important read for study design teams, research staff & IRB/IEC members. Reducing the research burden on participants will require ingenuity but first, we need the scientists in us to listen to the participants' voices.
Participating in research project can be burdensome 😥 it's time to value more patients involvement in research, and not necessarily with financial incentives 🤝
