We are more capable of not being A** even when hungry than we might think. "Thanks" @nsfaber & @PaulvanLange for taking away my hangry excuse ... have to find something new then & food!
@stdebove ouais résultat due a une variable confondue. ça veut pas dire que la faim a pas d'effet, peut être, mais cette étude n'a pas pu le démontrer. et puis apparemment le lien entre faim et comportement social reste... théorique au mieux https://t.co/2
Plus, people are likely to underestimate most people’s #generosity when facing hunger, as research demonstrated. https://t.co/SyXJPsG0sO

Interesting and unexpected result: - Acute hunger does not always undermine prosociality. - The effect is very weak for non-interdependent prosociality (e.g., altruism) and non-significant for interdependent prosociality (e.g., cooperation). https://t.co/

Interesting null findings! Imagine that you test hunger-induced selfishness with a similar treatment in the contexts where subjects can make a decision on intra & inter-househould (actual) food allocations #rctforhungergames https://t.co/RRdhUvaaop

Also, one of the studies shows that people believe that acute hunger does undermine #prosociaility. That belief is wrong or at least a strong overstatement! I think such convictions are rooted in a general overestimation of the power of #self-interest.
